Amenbo : Five finger input device

A Japanese company Double Research & Development Co. has shown off a new input device that puts all the five fingers of a hand into use.The device could sense the movements and pressure exerted by every individual finger.

The device,Amenbo, has a finger piece for every finger to rest on which are connected to a common base with a flexible material allowing free movement ob both fingers and the hand on the whole. As the complete hand movements are input, this device can be used with a wide range of applications that require a complete hand motion.

The developers say that softwares such as 3D CAD, that usually require input from both hands using a 3D mouse and a regular mouse, can get the whole input needed with just a hand using Amenbo.
