Sony has launched a pen drive that works on PC, smart phones and tablets. It is a two in one device with both USB 2.0 and micro USB connectors which supports smart phones and tablets along with laptops and desktops.The device is compatible with Android (Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean) OS with USB OTG (on the go) functionality now and Sony is working on them to compatible with Google’s new Android version 4.4 ( KitKat ).
The locking caps are available in three colors, protecting the connectors from dust and damage, the metal body of connector is enough durable to withstand everyday mobile use serving as additional storage. Director of consumer media marketing, Viviano Cantu, Sony Electronics, said, “These new drives combine convenience, peace of mind and performance and are perfect for mobile multi-tasking.”
This isn’t the first of the kind device.Months ago, iBall had launched a hybrid flash drive with both USB and micro USB connectors. Sony’s new flash drives are available in of 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB capacity and their prices falls as $19.99, $29.99 and $62.99.Though the India launch date has not yet announced, they are expected to hit global market coming January.
