Following the expectation of Micromax to launch Windows Phones, today the first two Windows Phone 8.1 based devices are unveiled in a meet with media. The two phones Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 were announced at a low price and are expected to hit the store shelves next month.
Micromax’s Canvas Win W121 sports a 5-inch HD IPS display, an 8 MP rear camera coupled wit an LED flash and a 2 MP front facing camera. It comes with an 8GB of built in storage and supports expansion up to 32GB with microSD card. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The Win W121 has proximity, gravity, and light sensors, an accelerometer and offers Dual-SIM capability. It has a pleasing leather finish back panel.
The next device on the line is Canvas Win W092, which has a 4-inch IPS WVGA display. It comes with a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash for crisp pictures in low light and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The device has a built in storage space of 8GB with support to expansion up to 32GB. This device too is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and has an 1GB of RAM. Just like Win W121, this too has Dual-SIM capability.
The Canvas Win W121 is priced at Rs. 9,500 and Canvas Win W092 is priced Rs. 6,500. Both the devices are said to be available in retailers across India from next month.
Microsoft’s move of making Windows Phone free for devices less than 9 inch seems to have made positive impact. Following Micromax, Indian manufactures Karbonn and Lava are also set to make their Windows phone launch.
