Forget bad graphics on mobile; Nvidia brings 192 core to your mobile device!

NVIDIA K1

Nvidia at the CES has unvieled its Tegra K1 chip that equips 192 Nvidia CUDA cores based on the Kepler architecture that powers most supercomputers and PCs. The K1 has a 192 core GPU and this is for a mobile device. Imagine the power of your mobile to render visuals with this beast inside. Also the K1 has a Quad plus 1 core ARM Cortex A15 based CPU working at 2.3 GHz.

The Nvidia K1 will bring powerful physics simulation, particle effects, lighting systems, and  supports DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.4.The performance that this chip will deliver will be much greater than the most gaming consoles. This means, your phone would be able to run heavy graphics games better than your consoles.Apart from the 32 bit ARM processor version, the chip will also come in a 64 bit variant with the Nvidia’s processor from its Denver project.

The monstrous chip would deliver visuals at a 4K UltraHD resolution of 4096×2160. It will support maximum memory of 8GB with a 40 bit address extension. It is not announced when this chip will be on devices but it is said that near the end of 2014, devices would start showing up with K1. Till then keep wondering how much it would cost you!
