Seagate a pioneer in HDD technologies,has introduced its GoFlex slim HDD in India,yesterday.This external HDD claims to be the thinnest and the thickness of this Slimmest is 38% thinner than the previous GoFlex range.
This 320 GB externeal HDD though thinner to 9mm,is equiped with 7200 RPM platters ,192-bit Triple DES and provides a USB 3.0 interface which provides transfer speeds 10x faster than USB 2.0 interface.Also compatible with USB 2.0.The sleek, ultra-thin anodized design is really attractive.
Rajesh Khurana, Seagate’s country manager – India & SAARC,said, the GoFlex Slim hard drive is for the segment of users or people who like to use stylish products.He also told the reporters that,
The continued growth of personal digital media stores, our increasing mobile lifestyles and the continued proliferation of mobile devices are driving the demand for slimmer, more portable storage solutions.

This new GoFlex slim hard drive works with both Windows and Mac, and is priced at Rs 4,500.It will be available through the Seagate distribution channels and select retail outlets across India.The price seems to be costly by the fact that even HDDs of 1 Terabyte (TB) are today available for just Rs.5000.But the thickness and performance matters.
