Most of the Indians have not seen 3G yet.But they would be seeing 4G soon.Bharti Airtel has planned to launch the wireless broadband services based on 4G.
Bharti Airtel has contacted China’s ZTE Corporation for the first phase implementation of the equipment required for the 4G services. This is the first project of ZTE setting up LTE-TDD (Long Term Evolution Time Division Duplex) technology in India. But it has already implemented the same in Scandinavia and Hungary for Sweden’s Hi3G and Telenor of Norway.
Already Bharti Airtel has paid 3314.36 crore for wireless broadband airwaves (BWA) in four regions Maharashtra, Kolkata, Karnataka and Punjab during the last year Auction.
“If ZTE successfully implements Bharti’s 4G network rollout in Kolkata, it may be the lead contender for supplying LTE gear for the remaining three circles as well, although it is likely to face stiff competition from Chinese rival company, Huawei for the Karnataka network deal”
Airtel also has had talks with 4G dongle and handset makers to introduce user side devices for launching 4G wireless broadband services in early 2012.
Currently Airtel concentrates only on Kolkata Circle and not much of the other three. The 4G would be four times faster than 3G.But how would be the plans of Airtel? Lets see…
