Microsoft says Good bye to the 20 year old four coloured Windows logo. Microsoft redesigned Windows logo for different versions of Windows but they used the same four coloured Windows concept. Yesterday (February 17, 2012), Microsoft released its new metro design logo which contains a blue square and a white cross on it. The new Windows logo almost looks like a normal window in a house.
Microsoft wanted to make their logo more modern and classic. On considering this, they have done such a change for Windows logo. The new logo will be seen on Windows 8 which is yet to be released. When we hear about Windows, our mind always imagine a four coloured logo which is an old one. Windows launched its first logo on November 1985.
Few days back, we also saw some leaked screenshots of Windows 8 when consumer preview was given but yesterday, Microsoft launched its new logo officially. Unlike previous versions of the logo, it was in a quite different state. Just have a look on the new logo in comparison with other logo.
When Windows 98 was launched it was just a flying four coloured logo without any emboss effect on the logo. But after that Windows made its logo change in different manner. However, it always used the four coloured logo technique. But Today’s Logo has brought us back to the history.
The new logo has a clear lines and shapes which doesn’t have any emboss or bevel effect or any other blending effects. Yet it’s simple and looks modern. But when we saw the consumer preview version, it was found that it had a old shaped logo on the right side of the screen. The moder Window like logo was not found. May be, Microsoft might update or have the same in applications or products inside.
