Facebook’s Music service in collaboration with Spotify!

News is spreading about facebook’s launch of Music service with Spotify. This has been discussed on a blogpost on Forbes with the information it got from sources close to the deal.

The integrated Music service is currently undergoing tests. But once active, facebook users would see a Spotify icon on the left side of their newsfeed among the usual icons for photos and events.

It is also said that, clicking on the Spotify icon will install the service on the users desktop in the background, and will allow users play from Spotify’s library of millions of songs through Facebook. The service will include a function that lets Facebook users listen to music simultaneously with their friends over the social network.

Spotify already has Facebook Connect integrated, allowing users to see what their friends on Facebook are listening to, and opt to have music choices show up on their news feeds. The new service on the Facebook platform will have similar social features.

Facebook’s steps towards such media would sure receive welcome from users. Not only Music, but earlier Warner Bros. announced it would make movies available to stream and rent through Facebook using Facebook credits.
